99.995% Pure Zinc wire optimized for use in twin wire arc and combustion thermal spray processes. Zinc is used for the protection of iron and steel against corrosion both in atmosphere and immersion in either fresh or salt water. Small uncoated areas are protected electrolytically by the zinc. Can be used as a primer on surfaces that will be painted. Pure Zinc Wire’s Melting Point: 787°. Bond Strength aim is 500 psi. Max Service Temp is 140°. Coating coverage estimate per pound @ 6 mils thickness is 3.5 sq. foot per pound. ZnAl 85/15 (85% Zinc, 15% Aluminium) Wire incorporates the best characteristics of both zinc and aluminium and is becoming widely used offering twice the protection of pure zinc. In corrosion protection of iron and steel, the combination of zinc and aluminium provides excellent cathodic protection in most environments. In mould manufacture this material being harder than pure zinc gives better service life and improved thermal conductivity at the expense of some profile definition. Can also be used for EMI Screening and End Spraying of Capacitors. This corrosion resistance alloy is especially effective on steel against sodium chloride (salt), sulfur dioxide and marine environments.Melting Point: 824° Bond Strength: 700 psi.
